When entering a remodel, homeowners are often shocked at the prices of the materials needed. A kitchen remodel consisting of cabinets, countertops, hardware, tile, sink, a faucet, and more has a lot of items and the price can add up quicker.
We recommend with any remodel that you sit down and make a list of your priority items. Pick 3 parts of the project that are the most important to you. For example, in your master bath remodel, your list may be:
1. Space for getting ready/larger counter space
2. A whirpool bathtub
3. A decorative accent strip of tile in the shower,
Now while you are out doing your shopping, you know what items may warrant a little more of your budget. Knowing that you want a larger counter space means that more of your budget will go torwards the counter. If you really want stone top, you may select a less expensive door style or finish for your cabinet to save some moeny. Or you may still want the dressier cabinet and may chose to use a solid surface countertop. With the decorative tile in the shower, you may decide that a simplier tile for the floor is fine. The whirlpool tub may mean you may use a Polished Chrome finish on your faucets instead of the more expensive Brushed Nickel.
Having a list of your important items makes shopping and selecting materials much easier. There is so much to select and it can be overwhelming. Prioritzing will make everything seem more simple.
